Great class! Overall, it covers mostly the basics of Internet of Things. Good for those who are new to the field. Would not recommend it to those who have some knowledge on embedded systems already.

The course covers the basics of the Terms which are used in IoT systems and introduces you to some networking terms. Not a lot of hands-on stuff. Expecting a lot of stuff in the upcoming courses.

This is a pretty good course, I like the Instructor and his explanation on the video. But, two cons are there is no discussion forum for this course and there are lots of peer review assignments. I generally do not like peer review assignments for a couple of reasons. One problem is you often end up waiting for your assignment to be reviewed and this slows up your progress in the report. But, more problematic is the case when a peer doesn't grade your assignment fairly. Then when there is not discussion forum, you can't bring that issue up there. So, the combination of lots of peer review assignments and no discussions together makes this more of the problem than the sum of the individual problems. I thought about giving three stars, but courses rated below 4.5 or so are considered not very high and so I don't want to pull down the rating any more of this otherwise pretty good course. Think about it, you are being graded by a peer. What if that peer doesn't understand the material or the assignment very well? Or, that peer doesn't take the time to carefully read your submission. I was unfairly graded by one reviewer on one of my assignments. I was explaining that in 1985, it was expected for everyone to have a phone - a landline phone - and only equipment one needed was the physical phone which were very inexpensive. Today, it is expected for everyone to have a smart phone or at the least a mobile phone. So the equipment required for that is much more expensive. So I was making that point and one peer reviewer didn't bother to read carefully what I had written and gave me poor marks and a rude, inappropriate, inaccurate comment that I don't know what I'm talking about. I was so bothered by this that I quit the course and finally came back three or four years later to finish it.
